Letters Needed Now: "NO" to Chicken Slaughter Project at Canandaigua Academy, NY
Thank you to Animal Rights Advocates of Upstate New York (ARAUNY) member, Dana Campbell, for sending info to ALDF, re Canandaigua Academy Chicken Slaughter class project:
Thank you also to UPC President, Karen Davis, for advocating loudly:
Joel Freedman (ARAUNY Public Education Committee Chair and Director on Board) first exposed Canandaigua Academy to the public for their horrendous "chicken project" with his 2/1/08 Letter "Wrong Lesson for Science Class."
At first, the public high school canceled the class project (now in its 3rd year), but after hearing back from the public ~ voted to reinstate it this fall. Many of us wrote letters to the school directly, but now more letters are needed. According to Joel Freedman, on July 23, 2008, School District Superintendent Donald Raw will have the final say whether to officially reinstate the project - which will be very soon.
Please write letters of opposition NOW, before the final decision is made by School District Superintendent Donald Raw ~ soon, please write ASAP. It doesn't matter where you live ... tell Canandaigua the world is watching!!!
