United Poultry Concerns was honored to participate in the National Animal Rights Day demonstration in New York City on Sunday, July 24 in Union Square
Park. An impressive display of dedicated animal rights activists and artists spoke, sang, and danced in the public square, despite high heat and sticky
humidity reminding us how much worse it is for billions of animals trapped helplessly in their sweltering prisons. Activists held in their arms the bodies
of animals who died in loneliness and terror at the hands of humans, in a symbolic liturgy dedicated to impressing these animals’ lives on the
consciousness of people. It was a beautiful day.
UPC President Karen Davis spoke of the chickens, including a determined little chicken named Reva.
