When 65 chickens fell off a slaughterbound truck on a busy
highway in Virginia Beach on the morning of July 26, United
Poultry Concerns promptly adopted 20 survivors and placed 20
other birds with UPC members Kay Evans and Jim Robertson in North
Carolina. Sadly, 25 birds died at the scene, but 40 hens are
alive, happy, and thriving in their new homes.
