Meet at Beale St. Plaza in San Francisco (on Beale St. between Market & Mission)
International Respect for Chickens Day is an annual project launched by United Poultry Concerns in 2005 to celebrate chickens throughout the world and
protest the bleakness of their lives in farming operations. In honor of chickens, UPC and
Direct Action Everywhere
will team up to challenge businesses that profit off the bodies of these beautiful birds. It is a hoax that “humane” poultry and egg
production is separate from industrial animal production. Even with alternative labels, we still see debeaking, overcrowded conditions, sickness, injuries,
and the birds still go to a brutal slaughter at a very young age. International Respect for Chickens Day is a time to reflect on the plight of chickens and
to raise our voices to expose the horrible truth about animal farming.
Please join us in speaking out for our feathered friends!
