The April 30 front-page article on molting in the poultry industry was an eye opener, more so than my morning coffee and two sunny side ups. I am constantly amazed how humans can dream up things to punish the critters that provide for them.

Those yolks staring at me in the morning would look more appetizing if I felt better about the animal husbandry involved. Until I do, I think I will switch to fruit smoothies with soy protein. If Europe can ban this fowl(ouch!) practice, then so can we.
