Saturday, September 28
Vegan Roots Fest
Booker T. Washington Park, Charlottesville, VA.
UPC will host an exhibit table and UPC President Karen Davis will speak on the topic of “‘Humane’ Eggs and ‘Happy’ Wings: The Truth Behind the Labels.”
Citing Nellie’s “Free-Range” Eggs and Perdue “Organic” Chicken as examples, I will explain the true meaning of Free-Range, Cage-Free, Natural, Organic, and Pasture-Raised Poultry and Eggs. What do these terms really mean, why should we care, and what should we do?
