Freddaflower Memorial & Appreciation Fund

The pain of losing them is the price we pay for the privilege of knowing them and sharing their lives . . .

We thank those people who have contributed to our work with recent donations In Loving Memory and in Honor and Appreciation of the following beloved family members and friends, both those who have passed away and those who are with us.

  • In honor of International Respect for Chickens Day and in memory of all the birds who suffer the most at the hands of a brutal, cruel, and greedy poultry industry, I am sending you this donation. I am trying to light my own tiny candle for the dark days we face for the disasters inflicted and being inflicted on the flora and fauna of this tortured planet by the sociopaths of our species. – Aaron Rubin

  • My donation is in celebration of Jessica Fomalont’s birthday! – Erin Marcus

  • My donation to UPC is on behalf of Christie Wisniewski. – Jeremiah Arias

  • My donation is in honor of International Respect for Chickens Day. It’s wonderful that you are doing all you do to help the chickens and other birds who are innocent and whose voices need our Voice to be heard. – Howard Schultz

  • I am proud to make this donation in memory of my husband, Retired Coast Guard Officer, John E. Martin, Jr., who passed away May 5, 2016. – Joan Martin

  • I am also donating in memory of Martitu, a wonderful, 8-year-old rooster. This sweet guy passed away peacefully on May 30, 2017. He was a mixed Cochin & Silkie. – Joan Martin

  • In honor of our beloved hen Hope, whose big heart gave out too soon. She was abandoned in a playground as a youngster, and it was our good fortune to adopt her. Bred for the meat industry, she could barely walk at first, but with guidance from UPC and others, we learned how to take care of her. As she gained strength and confidence, she was so joyful in her experience of a chickeny life: stretching her wings in the warm sun, digging for worms, a chicken friend. She gave and taught us so much. Miss you, Hopester. – Carol and Scott Bartram
