INTERNATIONAL RESPECT FOR CHICKENS DAY IS MAY 4.
The whole month of May is dedicated to Respect for Chickens as well.
United Poultry Concerns (upc-online.org) launched this day and month in
2005 to celebrate and honor the chickens of the world and also to protest
and mourn the deplorable conditions in which billions of them live, suffer,
and die. You can register at UPC if you wish to schedule a local action to
raise awareness. As we all know, chickens are beautiful, intelligent,
brave, and affectionate birds. Before they were captured, domesticated,
dominated, and genetically manipulated by human beings, they laid only a
few eggs each year and cared for their precious babies who flourished under
their mothers’ protective wings. Now they lay over 200 eggs in a year
in horrifying conditions. This depletes their bodies of calcium and causes
great suffering and disease. Once their production drops, they are killed
after only a year. In their native homes they lived much longer lives.
OUR PRAYERS TO HONOR AND RESPECT ALL CHICKENS.
Dear chickens of earth, we know that billions of you are suffering right
now at the hands of human beings, and so our spirits and the Love that
enlivens the universe reach out to every single one of you. In spirit, we
hold each one of you in our arms and ask Divine Intelligence to send
Infinite Love to each of you, to bless you, to ease your pain, to let you
know you are not alone, to let you know there are millions of us who
respect you and see who you really are. You bring us beauty in your sweet
faces and peace in your gentle ways. We join with you, dear chickens, in
crying out for an end to the violent stealing of your eggs, your babies,
and your bodies; for an end to using you for any purpose. We cry out with
you, knowing that Universal Love and all human souls hear those cries. And,
with you, we hold in our hearts the True and Real Vision of the coming
world in which all your children are free to live their own lives in peace
and freedom. May all human beings awaken immediately and vow to never again
use, kill, confine, or eat you, but rather to honor and respect you as the
wondrous beings you truly are. May peace, compassion, love and respect
prevail for all chickens everywhere on earth. We will not forget you; we
will not stop until you are all free from the domination and greed of
humanity.
Thank you, dear prayer partners, for your faithful prayers and visionary
thoughts. Thanks to all of you, compassion is encircling the earth for all
beings. Thank you for your devotion to truth, love, liberation and peace
for all beings.
