Speak Up for Chickens Rally at USDA National Poultry Improvement Plan Conference Committee Meeting
Activists Proclaim “Best Poultry Improvement Plan: Go Vegan!”
In spite of nationwide concern over the recent massive recall of eggs, no one from the public will be permitted to speak at the
USDA’s National Poultry Improvement Plan conference in San Diego (August 31 – September 2, 2010). Therefore,
members of United Poultry Concerns and San Diego Animal Advocates will “speak up for chickens” and voice the apprehensions of
consumers with demonstrations on each day of the
conference.
Activists, some dressed in chicken costumes, will display signs and banners, and distribute educational literature to attendees and
passersby from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM on August 31, September 1 and September 2 in front of the Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel, 1 Market
Place, San Diego, where the conference will be held.
