Pigeons are Victims of Criminal Depravity in Pennsylvania. Please Take Action, SHARK Urges.
Young Boys are Taught by Parents & Communities to
Torture Pigeons PURELY For Sadistic Pleasure

If anyone is looking for a perfect example of the moral pathology of our species’ behavior on Planet Earth, the Pennsylvania pigeon shoot massacres
are it. UPC is publishing the latest SHARK alert urging people PLEASE to write an email on behalf of these helpless birds. Despite
SHARK’S tireless and relentless filming of the pigeon shoots week after week, year after year, and despite the fact that these shoots are illegal
under the PA state anti-cruelty law, the Pennsylvania State Legislature and Governor refuse to enforce the law, preferring instead to nurture and
legitimize the most sickly depraved appetites for torturing animals in Pennsylvania’s children and their child-abusing parents. There is no better
example of flagrant Child Abuse joined to flagrant Animal Abuse. Where are the large animal “protection” organizations with the power and money
to make this a Huge Legislative Issue in Pennsylvania? It is unbelievable that these weekly massacres of tens of thousands of deliberately starved,
dehydrated, terrified and helpless pigeons are practically invisible to us, apart from SHARK. Once upon a time, the now defunct Fund For Animals
prioritized the banning of pigeon shoots in Pennsylvania. But since the disappearance of the Fund, the pigeons and pigeon shoots have all but disappeared
down the Memory Hole of our Movement. Please support SHARK’s campaign to expose and eliminate Pennsylvania’s illegal pigeon shoots. Here is
SHARK’s latest Alert, from United Poultry Concerns http://www.upc-online.org/pigeons/.

No Justice in Corrupt Berks County, PA | |
More than two weeks ago, SHARK investigators
documented the latest pigeon slaughter at the Wing
Pointe canned hunt resort, in very corrupt Berks
County, Pennsylvania.
Many of you have watched the videos showing the
unimaginable cruelty at the last slaughter. I
choose not to recount the torture here. My words
could not begin to match the horror of what
happened. Without question, the shooters committed
many violations of Pennsylvania humane laws.
The participation in the cruelty by apparently
underage boys should lead to charges beyond animal
abuse, perhaps for contributing to the delinquency
of a minor.

An apparently underage boy
about to slam to pigeons to the
ground. Just one of many
instances of violence and
absolute cruelty being
committed at Wing Pointe.
|
More than two weeks later, the Pennsylvania State
Police and Berks County District Attorney John
Adams should be done with a comprehensive
investigation into what happened, and charges
should be filed. Instead, there is a deafening
silence, like the vacuum after an enormous
bombshell. In this case, the sound of corruption is
nothing - absolutely nothing.
Disgusted and repulsed by the void of any concept
of justice in Berks County, I sent a letter to
Berks County President Judge Jeffrey L. Schmehl. I
am asking Judge Schmehl to remove the American Flag
from the Berks County Courthouse, as the corruption
of District Attorney Adams is so profound that it
soils our nation's colors. People have died for
that flag and the flag is supposed to represent
justice, yet there is no justice to be found in
Berks County, Pennsylvania.
I ask you to join me in asking Judge Schmehl to
remove the American Flag from the Berks County
Courthouse. Let's send a loud and clear message to
not only Berks County, but throughout Pennsylvania,
the US and beyond.
By calling out the corruption in Berks County, we
will not only stand up for our nonhuman friends, we
will stand up for the very ideals that built our
country.
Here is where you can write to Judge Schmehl:

In SHARK's latest video posted on YouTube, our Angel remote controlled
aircraft documents the high percentage of pigeons escaping from an illegal,
live pigeon shoot at Wing Pointe. As you can see, many of them are wounded
and doomed to a slow, painful death.

A Letter to Judge Schmehl from United Poultry Concerns Re: Pigeon Shoots
October 23, 2012
Berks County President Judge Jeffrey L. Schmehl
Court of Common Pleas of Berks County
Berks County Courthouse
633 Court Street
Reading PA 19601
Via Email: bcrossley@countyofberks.com
Dear Judge Schmehl:
I am writing to you about the pigeon shoots conducted in Berks County. It is very hard to know how to talk about these shoots as they represent such a
depth of depravity in those who participate in them and indoctrinate their children to accept sadistic cruelty as normal. A pigeon shoot doesn’t even
rise to the level of a hunt but is simply the cowardly behavior of sadistic men who shoot fish in a barrel.
I grew up in Altoona and Hollidaysburg, Pa. I attended several Labor Day pigeon shoots in Hegins, in Schuylkill County, until they were cancelled in 1999.
I had thought at the time that canned pigeon shoots in Pennsylvania would no longer be tolerated because they are illegal under Pennsylvania’s Animal
Cruelty Law, Title 18, section 5511 which prohibits a person from wantonly or cruelly ill-treating or otherwise abusing any animals including deprivation
of food, water, shelter and veterinary care.
I now know that this criminal animal abuse activity, epitomizing the most miserable impulses in human nature, is still being conducted in my home state of
Pennsylvania because the state’s legal system does not yet have men and women with the leadership required to prohibit the pigeon shoots and uphold
the law. Why is this? Why do Pennsylvania lawmakers protect the kinds of adults who terrorize, wound and kill defenseless birds for pleasure, and subject
their own children to violent hatred of other living beings?
In addressing you, am I talking to deaf ears or to a person so in thrall to the National Rifle Association that he cannot perform his duty as a law
enforcement officer of the court? I hope not. I ask you to uphold the law and ban these pigeon shoots in Berks County.
Thank you for your attention to my letter. I look forward to your response.
Sincerely,
Karen Davis, PhD, President
