Dear Dr. Kovich:
This request for public records is made under the Code of Virginia Freedom of Information Act. It is directed to obtaining copies of all records and documents related to our January 24, 2014 email asking your office to investigate the housing and medical condition of four or more roosters living on the ground in open air cages at 3077 Rocky Road, Rustburg, VA.
The requestor seeks inspection of all records pertaining to the roosters at 3077 Rocky Road, Rustburg, VA photographed by Anita Martin and submitted to United Poultry Concerns on January 20, 2014 via email, along with a detailed description of their housing in both her original and subsequent emails to our office, which we shared with you on January 24, 2014 via email.
On January 27, 2014, you advised our office that Dr. Carolynn Bissett, your Staff Veterinarian for Animal Care “has been in contact with Office David” at Campbell County Animal Control, and that “The situation remains under investigation.” The requestor seeks inspection of all records pertaining to Dr. Bissett’s investigation of the four or more roosters originally cited in our request to your office on January 27 along with all records pertaining to any other roosters and hens found at 3077 Rocky Road, Rustburg, VA in the course of Dr. Bissett’s investigation.
