Each year, Chicken Run Rescue and United Poultry Concerns invite people who share our love and respect for chickens to capture the beauty, joy,
intelligence, dignity, agility and zany exuberance of chickens in a photograph. This year’s winning photos have been published in a calendar
available for purchase. Each month includes informative, inspiring quotes or stories about the rescue and lives of chickens told by the people who love
them.
Entries from all over the world demonstrate that the human-chicken bond is evolving. It was so difficult to choose only 12 from the 159 entries -
there were so many wonderful photos entered. They depict so clearly the love, joy and respect felt for chickens by those who know them best - those who
share their lives and homes with them. All of the photos entered will remain on the contest site at

This year we were especially impressed with the number of photographs of birds who have been rescued. What an honor to read the inspiring stories of
birds who found happiness and love and to know the people all over the world who helped them.
