Issue:
United Poultry Concerns and Florida-based Humane Educators Reaching Out (HERO) have filed a Petition with the Florida Department of Education seeking new and clarified humane education laws and a ban on animal slaughter in Florida classrooms following an episode of extreme cruelty to chickens at Hawthorne High School in Alachua County in April 2009.

To watch the video and read our press release, “Animal Advocates Challenge Animal Slaughter in Florida Classrooms,” click on www.upc-online.org.

To publicize the issue, UPC, HERO, local activists and animal law attorney, Adam Karp, will hold a Rally demanding humane education in Florida schools, at the Orange County Courthouse in Orlando, Thursday March 31 from Noon-1pm.

All activists are invited to join us in sticking up for chickens and humane education in Florida classrooms! And remember to tune in tonight at 11:30pm for The Doug Clifford Show http://www.thesky973.com/.
