LONE WOLF, Oklahoma - U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe is facing criticism from animal rights groups over a fundraiser he held earlier this month in which live pigeons
were thrown into the air for participants to shoot out of the sky.
Illinois-based Showing Animals Respect and Kindness (SHARK) released video on Tuesday that shows
dozens of pigeons being killed by shotgun wielding participants, including Inhofe.

There is nothing sporting about a pigeon shoot. I have attended many in Pennsylvania in past years - as a protester - and the suffering of the wounded
pigeons will stay in my mind forever as an example of pure human evil and animal agony. There is something wrong with the type of person or culture that
treats creatures that way. It is cowardice, delight in cruelty, and worse. I am deeply grateful to SHARK for their tireless campaign to end pigeon shoots,
and by the way, pigeons are wonderful parents toward their young and devoted to one another. It is sickening how heartless people treat them. Don't stop,
SHARK. One day soon this primitive savagery will be eliminated, thanks to your efforts and the fact that the majority of people do not support callous,
craven cruelty toward birds and other creatures.
